This evening around 7:00 p.m., deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office were called to the 11000 block of Wheatland Rd NE near Matheny Rd NE, on a report of a single vehicle rollover crash.
Preliminary investigation and passenger statements show the vehicle was traveling south on Wheatland Rd when it made a sharp turn while negotiating a curve. There were 5 occupants in the vehicle, three adults and two juveniles. The adult driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected along with another adult passenger. The driver was deceased at the scene. One adult passenger was flown by Air Ambulance to a local area hospital. The remaining adult and two juveniles were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries. The Sheriff's Office does not intend to release any names associated with the crash until next of kin notification can be made.
Deputies with the Marion County Traffic Safety Team – Crash Team are on scene and the investigation is ongoing at the time. The roadway is expected to remain closed for several hours.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office are being assisted by the Keizer Police Department, Marion County Fire Department, Woodburn Fire Department, Marion County Public Works and Life Flight.
