Mr. Zelgier has been located and is safe.
On August 15, 2021, Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies were contacted by a caregiver who reported Kurt Zelgier as missing from his adult foster care home. Mr. Zelgier left the adult foster care home, in the area of Amherst Court NE, as early as 5:30 a.m. this morning.
His caregiver advised that Mr. Zelgier is suffering from dementia and also left his foster care home last week. He was later found north on Cordon Road.
Mr. Zelgier, 69, is a white male, 5’6”, 166 Ibs, with grey hair. He was last known to wear blue/black Adidas pants and grey shoes.
Marion County Search and Rescue Team have been activated in the search for Mr. Zelgier. Deputies are asking anyone who may have seen Mr. Zelgier, or may know his current whereabouts, to contact Marion County Sheriff’s Office dispatch at 503-588-5032.
