The Marion County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Team, will be joining law enforcement offices around the State in the annual "Click it or Ticket" campaign. Our deputies will be focusing their efforts starting May 18th and ending May 31st.
Did you know?

Child passengers weighing less than forty pounds must be restrained in a child seat.
Children under one year or weighing less than twenty pounds must be restrained in a rear-facing child seat.

A child over forty pounds must be restrained in either a child seat or a booster seat appropriate for the child's size until he/she reaches age eight or 4/9" tall AND the adult belt system fits properly.

We are proud that Oregon leads the nation with the highest reported seatbelt use: 98.18%, but there is still work to do! According to NHTSA, in 2013, an estimated six lives could have been saved in Oregon if everyone buckled up.

Please watch for our deputies working at the intersection of Lancaster Drive NE and Silverton Road NE on Friday, May 22nd from 7:00 am until 12:00 pm, and remember "Click it or Ticket!" Patrols like these are made possible by our partners at the Oregon Department of Transportation and the Oregon State Sheriff's Association.
