Three of the four subjects involved in yesterday's crash remain in the hospital at OHSU in serious condition. Melissa Aicher, of Keizer, who caused the crash was treated and released from Salem Hospital. The investigation is still ongoing and no arrests have been made as of this time. We are working closely with the District Attorney's office and will let you know of any further information about criminal charges in the near future.
What we know today is that Aicher was driving home from the Woodburn drag strip with her 8 year old son. She was west on Highway 219 and failed to stop for the stop sign at French Prairie and Mahony and collided with an elderly couple, from Newberg, who were traveling north on French Prairie.
The elderly couple was taken to OHSU via Life Flight, while Aicher's 8 year old son was transported to OSHU via ambulance. I have been told today the three remain at OHSU in serious condition.
Anyone with information about this incident either at the time or leading up to is encouraged to contact Deputy Huitt, Marion County Sheriff's Office, at 503-588-5032.

Today at about 3:30 pm two vehicles were involved in a crash at French Prairie RD NE and Mahony RD NE. Marion County Sheriff's Deputies from our CRASH Team along with Oregon State Police are investigating.
Early indicators suggest alcohol may have been a factor. The extent of injuries are not known at this time, One of the vehicle occupants were taken to a portland area hospital via LifeFlight while the other occupants were transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
Due to this being an ongoing criminal investigation, no other details such as names of the involved and or vehicle information will be released at this time. We will send out an additional release once we are able to make that available.
