Today at around 11:30 am, the Marion County Sheriff's Office was called to the 4700 block of Riverdale Road South on a reported burglary in progress. The owner of the residence called 911 after receiving texts from her daughter stating a male and female were inside of the house gathering items to steal.

The 18 year old victim who hid in a closet, under a blanket after the two would be burglars forced open a garage door texted her mother letting her know she needed help. The burglars were rifling through items in the home and finally opened the closet where the victim was hiding. When the burglars lifted the blanket the victim yelled, "Get out of my house," and both suspects ran to their waiting vehicle.

Deputies caught up with the suspects in the 5400 block of Skyline Road South, where they were positively identified by the victim and arrested. Tiffany Wicke, age 38 and Jestahn Jackson, age 37 were taken to the Marion County Jail for the crime of Burglary in the first degree. (Please watch our web page for the suspects booking image)

The Sheriff's Office would like to commend the victim in this case for taking action to protect herself and assist the Sheriff's Office in capturing the two suspects. Calls for service like this are some of the scariest situations a resident can face and in this case the victim did everything right to protect herself and aide in the capture of Ms. Wicke and Mr. Jackson.
